Sanjay Kurani

Dr. Sanjay Kurani is the Hospital Medical Director at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center and Clinical Assistance Professor of Medicine at Stanford University School of Medicine. He is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and has been a practicing hospitalist for 20 years and is an award-winning clinician, educator and leader in medicine.

Dr. Kurani oversees Patient Safety and Quality, Utilization Management and Patient Flow at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center. He has written publications and is a national speaker on patient flow and improving hospital operational efficiency. He is one of the Co- Chairs of the Centers for Leadership and Transformation Hospital Flow Program and has received national awards for his work on hospital throughput. He has trained nearly a generation of physicians and in 2018 received the Stanford Outstanding Preceptor in Clinical Education award.

Dr. Kurani received his undergraduate degree in Molecular Cell Biology at the University of California at Berkeley and received his medical degree from the University of Southern California. He completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center.
