Michael Klein
Mr. Klein is the Senior Director of Portfolio Management & Operations Planning for Mayo Clinic, based in Rochester, Minnesota. His responsibilities include oversight of Mayo’s Enterprise Portfolio Management Office, plus enterprise operations reporting and performance assessment.
Prior to his current assignment, Mr. Klein served as the Operations Administrator for Business Analysis and Portfolio Management within Mayo Clinic Global Business Solutions (GBS), a group that commercialized Mayo Clinic’s knowledge and expertise in non-patient care settings. Mr. Klein had direct responsibility for portfolio strategy, inclusive of existing product lines and potential new products, as well as ownership of the project management office for GBS.
Before joining Mayo Clinic in June 2015, Mr. Klein worked at Procter & Gamble for ten years. During his tenure, he held a variety of roles within their finance organization, including direct customer engagement, portfolio rationalization and management, process redesign, change management, profit and cost forecasting, and upstream product development.
Mr. Klein also worked for Deutsche Bank’s investment banking operations for three years, analyzing and providing recommendations on capital structure events, mergers, and acquisitions across a breadth of industries.
Mr. Klein holds a master’s degree in Business Administration from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s Sloan School of Management, and an undergraduate degree in Psychology from Harvard.
